A Winged Unicorn; often erroneously known as an Alicorn; is a chimeric creature combining features of a Unicorn and Pegasus, due to having wings and a horn in the middle of the forehead. In reality, the word "alicorn" merely means either the horn of a unicorn or the material that the horn is made of.
Like the Hippogriff, the Winged Unicorn seems to be a fictional creation, and has little to no basis in actual mythology.
