The red-streaked box crab (Calappa lophos) is also referred as the common box crab. The shape of this species is like a colourful ‘box’ with broad chelate legs (a pincer-like claw, especially of a crab or other crustacean.). They are also called as “shame faced crabs” in mention to the chelate legs that cover the entire front view of the crab.
