The Nile crocodile is an African crocodile, the largest freshwater predator in Africa, and is the second-largest extant reptile and crocodilian in the world, after the saltwater crocodile. Nile crocodiles are also known to have been on the Island of Madagascar off the Coast of Africa. But unlike their kind in the mainland Africa that are Least Concern, the Nile crocodiles on the Island of Madagascar are an endangered species.
