Iguanodon, “Iguana Tooth” was named in 1825, is a genus of ornithopod dinosaur that existed roughly halfway between the first of the swift bipedal hypsilophodontids of the mid-Jurassic and the duck-billed dinosaurs of the late Cretaceous. Iguanodon was one of the few 1st Dinosaurs discovered in the early years of the 1800S. In the 1940S 2 early life sized models of Iguanodon were constructed as Giant horn nosed Iguanas by Benjamin Waterhouse Hawkins for Crystal Palace Park. A few decades later in the year 1878, 39 Complete Skeletons of Iguanodons were discovered & they gave a clear view of what these dinosaurs actually looked like. Scientists believe Iguanodon gets around on their 4 legs while walking & on their 2 hind legs when they runaway faster from their predators.
