The chipekwe was a cryptid ungulate reported from freshwater habitats in Zambia, particularly around the Bangweulu Wetlands, but also from the Kafue Flats and the lakes and rivers at the source of the River Congo. The name was most commonly applied to a horned, amphibious pachyderm which was often called the water rhinoceros, and is thought to be identical to the emela-ntouka.
